This device is utilized to measure the linear expansion in laboratory of a paste of standard consistency. The expansion is measured after a period of 24 hours, during which the specimen is kept in humidity and temperature controlled cabinet. The extensometer comprised a horizontal cradle 100 x 60 x 25 mm closed at one end and open to the other. The open end is in contact with a dial gauge spindle, so that the lateral expansion of the specimen is measured. The dial gauge has 10 mm travel and 0.01 mm division.
